Chelsea goalkeeping prospect Thibaut Courtois has been lined up by Barcelona as their long-term No1.
Barca have made an enquiry about the highly-rated 21-year-old Belgian, who joined the west Londoners from Genk in his homeland in 2011 but has yet to play for them.
Instead, with Petr Cech well-established between the posts at Stamford Bridge, he has been farmed out on loan to Spanish side Atletico Madrid for the past two seasons and again for the new campaign.
He has helped Atletico win the Europa League and Copa del Rey in that time, and also established himself as a Belgium international.
La Liga champions Barcelona are looking at trying to find a successor for Victor Valdes, and Liverpool's Pepe Reina - currently on loan at Napoli - and now Courtois are among the contenders.
The news comes just hours after Chelsea defender David Luiz confirmed he turned down a move to Barca this summer.
